Aistear/Learning Through Play

Ms O' Sullivan's Junior Infant Class are taking part in the Aistear/ Learning Through Play programme

since October 2012. They have been engaging in a wide selection of play themes that have delivered 

curriculum content in a fun and child-centred way. They have been joined by a group of their own parents

who help out during Aistear playtime. This ensures high quality of learning through play as it allows for a

higher level of adult/child interaction than would  normally be possible. Here is a selection of photographs

 Hallowe'en witches learning about mixing colours while making making smelly potions.

 We have been making new homes in the sand for the animals from the farm.


 We had some very sick animals who had to visit our vet clinic.

We built this version of the town where the Three Little Pigs live.


We counted all the animals that lived on the farm.
